Process: April 7th Filming Experience

Today, my group and I finally met the LOL club! The president, Michael Yang and vice president, Erick Smith were happy to let us interview and film them and their members as long as we don't distract anyone from their game. We got there around 3pm, made some final preparations and decisions before heading to Room 314 in the Steward Centre to meet the club.

The members were very cooperative, allowing the interviewing process to run smoothly. Most of them were also very friendly, asking us about our projects and background and sharing a bit of theirs as well. There wasn't a single awkward moment throughout the entire filming process! As Jim and Kyle has already mentioned, we got to interview the president, vice president and network manager (and newly appointed community representative) of the LOL club. They were very cool and friendly people and not at all like any stuck up officers.

Other than interviewing people, we also got a lot of B-roll of the club playing the game and of the venue of the meeting. Lastly, other than using one camera to interview people and another to film B-roll of the club, we also used a mobile phone situated next to the subject during the interview to provide better quality audio and also serve as a back up as the camera was acting up a little and turning off at random intervals during interviews.

Overall it was a very productive day and we're all really grateful that the LOL club community is so easy to work with! J
